Oatmeal/Porridge is one of my absolute favourite breakfasts at the moment; there’s just something so warming and comforting about a big bowl of warm creamy oats. As plain oats are pretty bland, I always top mine with things such as nut butters, frozen berries and sometimes maple syrup. Yesterday’s oats were topped with fresh nectarine and the most unbelievably delicious almond butter from Pip & Nut.. (will definitely be buying that stuff by the tonne soon…)Oats are a brilliant source of complex carbs and so keep you full and satiated for a long time as well as being a good source of protein. Beta-glucan, found in oats, is a type of soluble fibre that slows the absorption of carbohydrates into the bloodstream preventing blood sugar spikes.
So whip up about 1/2 a cup of oats with water or milk and top them with Pip & Nut Almond Butter and some nectarine for the most delicious, filling bowl of goodness!
