Post Summer Blues?

Did you know that the weather can really effect your mood, and it’s not just a saying? With summer over I often start to feel down until christmas season really starts, but I have a few ways to cure the dreaded post summer blues and ways I like to keep happy in general!

  1. Make a hot drink, grab a blanket and/or a pet and watch a movie.

Although this is a pretty common way to chill out in winter especially, it’s often underrated. Just taking some quiet time away from the world with your favourite drink can be really relaxing. Also, it’s scientists believe that stroking a pet can lower your blood pressure and therefore relieve stress leading to a happier you!

2. Workout!

Yes, I’m on about working out again and it’s many benefits.. sorry!! Exercising releases hormones called endorphins in your body which cause an analgesic effect, which acts to relieve pain and improve your mood. Whether its a super sweaty HIIT workout or a 10 minute jog a little exercise a day is sure to keep your mood up.

3. Pamper Yourself

When you are super busy starting school and/or work again after summer you can often forget to take some time for yourself every once in a while. Remember to take some time to pamper yourself, maybe run a bath and put on a facemask or even just paint your nails. A little self-love will really help relax you and help you feel good.

4. Yoga and Meditation

This is a fairly new one for me but I have found it to be relaxing and different to the type of exercise I would usually do. Yoga and meditation are great ways to relax your mind of stress, anxiety and troubles whilst also relieving stress and tension from your body as well as helping keep your body toned.

5. Bake Something.

Baking can be a really therapeutic thing to do, but apart from the baking part, the eating of it is probably the best..am I right or am I right?

6. Go Outside.

Although the weather may not be the most appealing currently, even if you can’t see it the sun is still there emitting Vitamin D! So go outside and let your body soak up the vitamins!
